I can’t thank this couple enough. I’ve known this bride and groom for years now, and when they tied the knot and asked me to get on a plane to go to their Costa Rica Wedding I could not have been more happy. This marked the first of many Destination Weddings I plan on doing. I am glad I could call them the first official wedding I have shot in Costa Rica. This shot was after the wedding day at Rui Guanacaste. As we were coming in from the catamaran (props to the bride for setting up the catamaran for me to come with) I asked the bride and groom to play out in the water. With a little direction we pulled off a series of shots, but then…we did something more natural…he picked her up. Click…that was the shot I was looking for. I go into the wedding day with ideas of how I want to flatter each couple, many times it works best for a taller guy to pick up a shorter girl just to even out the height difference. That helped this shot, but even more is that I want to catch my clients in their natural setting. Many times people think I am posing the couple, and don’t get me wrong, many times I am but its usually from noticing how they already act in front of me. You see, every couple has their own personal displays of affection that makes up their relationship. I want to capture that. There is always more emotion, more intimacy, and more love drawn out of those moments. I hope you enjoyed this moment as much as I have.
