Downtown Minneapolis wedding
This Downtown Minneapolis wedding happened on what is possibly the warmest day I have ever shot a wedding. Next to being in Hawaii that is. This August wedding had temps reaching 100 degrees. Its the first formal ceremony and reception that I shot in shorts and a Polo. The last thing I needed was a headline of “Photographer faints.” We started our day with a few first looks of both the Bride and her father and the Bride with the groom. Family surrounded them as they both had their emotional moment together. We then took the bus down to St. Kate’s University (Our Lady of Victory Chapel). This gorgeous piece of estate had amazing large stain glass windows with high ceilings and plenty of room for attendees. The reception was held later on at St. Paul Athletic Club downtown St. Paul. Both amazing locations with lots of opportunity for a great traditional wedding. They went with a Oyster Dress with Merlot and Light Green bridesmaids and groomsmen accents. One thing that is common with every wedding…it always goes late. We were so far behind schedule multiple times by many other variables, yet these two and their family always pulled it together to get things done! It’s not every wedding day that you get to experience this. Most weddings go late and then everything gets pushed back further and further, but these two were able to stay focused and pull it together when needed. We got some adorable pictures of their parents kissing and mingling as well as a ton of extra family for miles that normally wouldn’t be able to be done with their schedule as it was listed. I hope you enjoyed looking for these photos as much as I did, this was a very special day for these two with many amazing surprises that the couple brought to play in their wedding day.
