The Evergreen

Located in southeast Portland, Oregon, is an event hall capable of accommodating whatever type of wedding you have in mind for your special day – from an intimate gathering with loved ones, to an over-the-top event, all while looking effortlessly chic as hell.

The Evergreen’s renovation design was based on the Co-Owners priority of celebrating the original architecture of the space; adding modern touches to enhance the already gorgeous space. There is a 550 person capacity, and room for a 200 person seated dinner. The Evergreen encompasses three areas: an entry area on the ground floor, a main floor, and a mezzanine (all accessible via full sized elevator). Each space embodies the theme of old paired with new in unique ways.

The walls of the Bridal Suite are adorned with simple black and white geometric wallpaper and sought-after natural light floods the room from the windows. A large custom tufted black velvet seat covers much of the back wall, and clean wood and gold accents and earthy green plants add an eye-catching element to the room that was designed to be comfortable and memorable. It’s a Pinterest and Instagram-worthy room to prep for your wedding.

The Main Floor boasts vaulted ceilings with original circular windows near the roof line, exposed brick walls, cement posts and beams, and the original 1908 maple dance floor that has been refurbished. The dance floor is easily the focal point when you gaze upon the Main Floor, much thanks to large concrete tiles along the perimeter of the dance floor, which emphasize the alluring hardwood detail and adds a modern element to the space. Natural light illuminates the Main Floor from the high windows and two massive skylights. The evergreen-hued paint and plants placed on the window sills add a sense of comfort to the room, and sphere globe lights, detailed in gold, hang from the ceiling, adding a pop of elegant color contrast. An in-house sound system and the ability to utilize additional lighting options make the space customizable to your needs.

The Mezzanine, which can accommodate about 100 guests, is the perfect spot for a cocktail hour or lounge spot during the wedding reception. Shannon, the Director of Sales, gave us a tour of Evergreen and said this space has also been utilized in the past “by brides who were seeking a more dramatic entrance”. The staircases and bannisters were all built by local craftsmen.

The Loyal Legion, Oregon’s premier beer hall, is the downstairs neighbor and connects from Evergreen’s Entry Area. The Loyal Legion features 100 Oregon beers on tap, in addition to a wide variety of whiskeys. There is an option of utilizing some of The Loyal Legion’s space for your wedding if desired as well.

The Evergreen is adamant that they have the capacity, flexibility, and infrastructure to host any event – and we believe it!
